Goodbye Lady

This journal is dedicated to my dog Lady. She was part Lab, part Chow and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She just died at 16 years old, which is pretty old for a dog, I guess. I have been expecting this for awhile, as she was finally showing signs of ageing, but I was surprised at how much it hurt. It feels like the world just got a little bit emptier. And to add to it, my little girl, 5 years old, had gotten very attached to Lady as well. She took it pretty hard. Children are resilient, of course, but she is a deep thinker, and I know it has changed the way she looks at the world.

Anyway, I probably won't leave this up long, it's mostly just for my benefit. Sometimes it helps to write things down, which I haven't really done in a long time.

To Lady, a good dog, smart and loving.....you will be missed....
